Pushout is a feature-length documentary, based on a book of the same name by Dr. Monique Morris, that takes a deep dive into the lives of Black girls and the practices, cultural beliefs, and policies that disrupt one of the most important factors in girls’ lives - education. Join us as we view the film together and then stay for a panel discussion and community conversation about the experiences of Black girls in public schools. When we read a great book or hear a wonderful story, all we want to do is tell everyone about it! Whether reading together or listening, Story Time can allow you to temporarily escape your own world and become swept up in the imagined experiences of the characters. Join us in celebrating Black stories, Black voices, and Black authors. Link to join Story Time with King Umar: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81803784447
